How to Start/Stop TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper

Display name: TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper


Description:

Provides support for the NetBIOS over TCP/IP (NetBT) service and NetBIOS name resolution for clients on the network, therefore
enabling users to share files, print, and log on to the network. If this service is stopped, these functions might be unavailable. If this
service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Path to executable:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k LocalServiceNetworkRestricted -p

Msconfig:
This method shows you how to Start/Stop TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service from starting with the operating system using
System Configuration

Perform the following steps:

Please go to Start and click on the Type here to search

Type msconfig and press Enter

In System Configuration please go to Services tab and locate TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service
Uncheck the box to prevent this service to start and then press OK to finish

Any change make in System Configuration will be apply after restart
