How to Start/Stop SSDP Discovery
Service name: SSDPSRV
Display name: SSDP Discovery
Description:
Discovers networked devices and services that use the SSDP discovery protocol, such as UPnP devices. Also announces SSDP devices
and services running on the local computer. If this service is stopped, SSDP-based devices will not be discovered. If this service is
disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.
Path to executable:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k LocalServiceAndNoImpersonation -p
Msconfig:
This method shows you how to Start/Stop SSDP Discovery service from starting with the operating system using
System Configuration
Perform the following steps:
Please go to Start and click on the Type here to search
Type msconfig and press Enter
In System Configuration please go to Services tab and locate SSDP Discovery service
Uncheck the box to prevent this service to start and then press OK to finish
Any change make in System Configuration will be apply after restart
