How to Start/Stop SNMP Trap service
Service name: SNMPTRAP
Display name: SNMP Trap
Description:
Receives trap messages generated by local or remote Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) agents and forwards the messages
to SNMP management programs running on this computer. If this service is stopped, SNMP-
receive SNMP trap messages. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Msconfig:
This method shows you how to Start/Stop SNMP Trap service from starting with the operating system using
System Configuration
Please perform the following steps:
Please go to Start and click on the Search programs and files
Type msconfig and press Enter
In System Configuration please go to Services tab and locate SNMP Trap service
Uncheck the box to prevent this service to start and then press OK to finish
Any change make in System Configuration will be apply after restart
