How to Start/Stop Remote Desktop Configuration service

Service name: SessionEnv

Display name: Remote Desktop Configuration


Description:

Remote Desktop Configuration service (RDCS) is responsible for all Remote Desktop Services and Remote Desktop related configuration
and session maintenance activities that require SYSTEM context. These include per-session temporary folders, RD themes, and RD
certificates.


Path to executable:

C:\Windows\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs

Msconfig:
This method shows you how to Start/Stop Remote Desktop Configuration service from starting with the operating system using
System Configuration

Please perform the following steps:

Please go to Start and click on the Search programs and files

Type msconfig and press Enter

In System Configuration please go to Services tab and locate Remote Desktop Configuration service
Uncheck the box to prevent this service to start and then press OK to finish

Any change make in System Configuration will be apply after restart
