How to Start/Stop Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Service

Service name: MSiSCSI

Display name: Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Service


Description:

Manages Internet SCSI (iSCSI) sessions from this computer to remote iSCSI target devices. If this service is stopped, this computer will
not be able to login or access iSCSI targets. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.


Path to executable:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs -p

This method shows you how to Start/Stop Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Service service from starting with the operating system using
System Configuration

Perform the following steps:

Please go to Start and click on the Type here to search

Type msconfig and press Enter

In System Configuration please go to Services tab and locate Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Service service
Uncheck the box to prevent this service to start and then press OK to finish

Any change make in System Configuration will be apply after restart
