How to Start/Stop Human Interface Device Access service

Service name: hidserv

Display name: Human Interface Device Access


Description:

Enables generic input access to Human Interface Devices (HID), which activates and maintains the use of predefined hot buttons on
keyboards, remote controls, and other multimedia devices. If this service is stopped, hot buttons controlled by this service will no longer
function. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.


Path to executable:

C:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe -k LocalSystemNetworkRestricted

Msconfig:
This method shows you how to Start/Stop Human Interface Device Access service from starting with the operating system using System Configuration

Please perform the following steps:

Please go to Start and click on the Search programs and files

Type msconfig and press Enter

In System Configuration please go to Services tab and locate Human Interface Device Access service
Uncheck the box to prevent this service to start and then press OK to finish

Any change make in System Configuration will be apply after restart
